The food was really good and the service was fast. However, it was extremely crowded and the line was super long waited almost an hour. Once I got to the front I did get my food in under 5 minutes. Wish they served water there though.

After hearing a colleague boast about this place, I knew I had to try it. I went in a Saturday around 4pm and the line was long. I waited between 45-60 mins. Once I finally reached the front, the butcher gave me a piece of brisket to try. It was so delicious I knew the wait was going to be worth it. I ordered the chicharrón sandwich with a small mac and cornbread. The cornbread is so yummy; they drizzle a honey butter (I think) sauce on top and it's so perfectly made. The mac and cheese is also good but not Texas styled. I added pickles and onions to my sandwich and wow I did not want to put it down. I realize now that I didn't take the best picture of the sandwich, but I was so ready to devour it. The only downside is that they don't sell water here and the seating sucks, which isn't their fault because it a communal seating area for about 10 restaurants in the entire market. My friend and I had to leave the market to find seating.

Last week, my friend treated me to a birthday lunch at Time Out Market, where we could pick whatever we fancied. We stumbled upon Bark Barbecue without knowing its social media fame, which allowed me to review it without any preconceived notions. Arriving at 2:30 p.m. on a Wednesday was perfect--there was a short line and no risk of food running out. Our entire experience, from queuing to receiving our food, took about 20 minutes. The butcher even offered us a few samples while we waited. We ordered a feast: brisket, chicharron, tres golpes sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, and a side of macaroni and cheese. Even for two gym rats, it was a lot of food, but we enjoyed having leftovers. (Almost) everything was delightful, especially the perfectly cooked brisket and the immaculate chicharron. The mac and cheese was a bit too salty for my taste. The only downside was the hectic seating situation, which isn't Bark's fault but a flaw of the Time Out Market. Also, a water station would be a great addition instead of relying on an already busy bartender. The natural lighting and views of the Brooklyn Bridge, however, made up for the minor inconveniences. I can't wait to return for more of this excellent barbecue.

I finally made it! I've been drooling via IG photos for over a year! Straight from JFK, we drove the hour and 8 mins to DUMBO. Then it began to pour!! We found no parking. Bark Barbecue is located on the 5th floor of the Time Out Market building. This market houses a plethora of small kiosk style businesses to satisfy any food, savory, or sweet craving. I was terrified of encountering the often mentioned hours long wait, but I guess because it was Thursday early afternoon, there was 1 person before me on the line to order. I ordered the ribs, chicharrón with arroz congri, maduros, and the Dominican torta (cornbread). Pay attention, I was sooo excited to find no line and to finally try this place that I paid NO attention to the price and portions. My order with two cokes, which I love they are bottles and not cans or fountain, was a total of $107.30. Pricey, yes, but it was so worth it. The ribs are amazing. Tender, juicy, slightly smokey, just sooo good. The chicharrón is perfectly crunchy and the right balance between meat and fat. Pork heaven! The arroz congri (black rice composed of white rice mixed with black beans) was like no congri I've ever tasted before. Peppery and comforting. The sweet plantains (maduros) are sometimes hard to pull off, but here, they do it right. Biting into the Dominican cornbread, it's obvious it's made from fresh corn, slightly sweet and tender crumb. The honey butter is the perfect addition to that cornbread! The service is welcoming. They answer questions, and they even gave me a piece of chicharrón to try. The view from up here is phenomenal. If it's not raining like it was when I went, enjoy the nice view of the plenty of outside seating they have. The seating inside is mostly communal. Long tables we share as we all break bread. On this trip, we had to eat in the car but next time, I will enjoy that view with my delicious meal.

Unfortunately, by the time I got to the front of a very long line, the food was gone. Times Out is a cute area to get some food, maybe a drink and just look out to the beautiful view of the city. Will attempt to go back and actually try the food.

Came to Timeout Market just to try out this vendor. Happy to have Hispanic food in this part of Brooklyn and in this type of environment. The food here is delicious! If you're thinking about trying it do not second guess yourself. The service was pleasant, the ladies kept a smile on their face while the line didn't stop. With Texas style serving I say try a little bit of everything and enjoy your leftovers. Indeed it will be hefty on the pockets. I tried what was left on the menu, pork ribs, pulled pork, chicharrón, congris & cornbread. Every dish comes with pickles, lime & pickled red onions. Definitely come early as food here gets sold out quick.

Bark Barbecue in Brooklyn was pretty good. The mac and cheese - it's legit. Creamy, cheesy goodness that I could eat all day. And the brisket? It was so tender and smoky, it practically melts in your mouth. Now, the pulled pork with plantain was just okay, nothing to write home about. But honestly, with everything else being so good, it's easy to overlook. The only downside? The wait. I waited for an hour before getting the food. Not too bad if you grab a drink from the bars nearby. Overall, it was a solid experience. I'm not sure if I'd wait in line again, but those flavors are definitely tempting me to come back for more.

I've been wanting to check out this place for sooo long, and finally, I got the chance. Being Dominican, it felt like everyone but me had already ate at Bark. I probably picked the busiest day to go - the first nice day this year, and everyone had the same idea! My boyfriend almost bailed when he saw the line, but I convinced him to stick it out. Was it worth it? Well, that depends on how hungry you are and how badly you want Dominican Texas BBQ We ended up waiting in line for two hours!! The food was delicious though. The meats were tender and flavorful, especially the brisket. And don't even get me started on the mac and cheese - it was heavenly! We also tried their Dominican cornbread "Torta" with honey butter, which was a hit. But seriously, that line and wait time were insane! Even after we got our food, the line kept growing. I've heard it's always like that, so I'd recommend going on a weekday instead of a weekend. And finding a table was like playing a game of musical chairs - it's a challenge, especially if you're with a group. Overall, I'm thrilled this place exists and helps to celebrate the Dominican and Southern roots, but I hope they expand to a bigger space soon - no more lines, please!
